When: From 20 Apr 2018 to 22 Apr 2018
Where: Piazzale Michelangelo
Little time remains until the 2018 edition of the Gelato Festival, an inaugural stop on the European tour which will run from April 20 to July 7, taking top continental gelato makers through the main Italian and foreign cities.
They’ll ultimately circle back to Florence in mid-September for the “All Star” round, a challenge put forth for the stars of the artisanal gelato world.
This year, once again, the inaugural stop will be in Florence from Friday, April 20 until Sunday, April 22. The festival, which will feature 16 of Italy’s finest artisanal gelato makers in every city it stops in, will be held in Piazzale Michelangelo.
For Florentines, Tuscans and tourists, the festival, organized in collaboration with strategic partners Carpigiani e Sigep – Italian Exhibition group, is a unique occasion to discover the secrets of the gelato world, through tastings, themed initiatives and educational labs set up in one of the most evocative (and photographed) squares in the world.
Three huge (13 meter) food trucks – including the “Buontalenti”, which is the largest mobile gelato laboratory in the world – will be set up.
A 10 euro ticket (reduced for small children) allows you to sample all the competing gelato flavors, along with those offered by sponsors, and admits you to any of the village activities.
